In this session, our party continued their journey in the lamp
Caravan - Day 56: A Reply
Previously
- The party received a note in the Journal of the Five Leaf Clover, which turned into a lamp.
- Pliny rubbed the lamp.
- Smoke started spewing out of the spout, filling the space around them.
- They voluntarily followed the magical tug to enter the lamp.
- The lamp got bigger or they got smaller, as it pulled them into the spout of the lamp.
- As they flowed down the tunnel, they heard, “Keep hold of the thread. What happens in dreams is real… after a fashion.”
- Tick
- And they found themselves back in Phlan.
- Magic circles opened behind each member of the party.
- They each disabled their skeleton, and heard Ragvala’s voice: “Amazing! Simply amazing!”
- And the scene went white…
Session 56: Current Session
The Ticking of the clock
- They party heard the ticking of a clock: Tick.
Tick 2 - Dragon’s Sorrow
Pixies & Goat
- They were on the back of a gold dragon, flying through the Moonsea sky.
- A pixie flew by: “Hello! I’m Okki! Let’s play a game! Heehee!”
- Aegar and Zoyana watched as Pliny (Int Save 6) Polymorphed into a giant goat.
- Pliny held his hoofing on the path, and they all heard Okki say “Aww…” a her voice faded.
The path
- They looked down, and realized that they were on a path, with an endless sea to both sides. There were no stars, no light. Yet they could see.
- Aegar in front, then Pliny the Goat, then Fang, and finally Zoyana.
- They were each holding onto a ghostly string (Pliny was more leaning against it than holding).
- Pliny and Zoyana saw thin, silvery threads connecting those in front of them with the main thread you are all holding.
- As they walk, those connections move with them.
- Zoyana, mentally, to the others: “Remember the message we got before we got here, no matter how freaked out, do not let go of the thread.”
- They began walking along the endless path.
- After a minute or so (time was hard to measure here), Pliny reverted to his half-elven form.
Temman Dander: Can I tell you a story?
- They passed a tree to the right, and as Zoyana passes it, from the side and behind them:
- “What’s up witches! Are you witches? No? Good! I am Temman Dander! Oh! Friends! Can I tell you a story?”
- As soon as she saw him, Zoyana messaged the others: “Don’t let go of the rope. Keep going!”
- At the same time, they immediately felt their hearts sink, as they were subject to 1 Level of Exhaustion when their old friend joined the path.
- Temman Dander: “How did you get here? I was hanging out with my friends. They were talking about something… I remember a thump, and then woke up here. How did you get here?”
- Aegar wasted no time Channeling Divinity (Persuasion 15) to persuade him to look for his friends: “Temman, we are all fine here. But your friends probably are looking for you and miss you. I would retrace your steps and try to, perhaps, follow this string back down the other way to find them.”
- Temman Dander: “Back down? But you would have seen them if you were back there…”
- Aegar: “Perhaps off to the side. I think you should look there.”
- Temman Dander: “Oh I’ll go do that, and when I come back I’ll tell you a story you wouldn’t believe the things I’ve seen since I saw you last.”
- Temman Dander turned around, (Aegar: “let’s go let’s go let’s go let’s go let’s go.”) and once the party was about 100 paces past the tree, the scene faded from view.
Ragvala’s presents
- The scene rushed by…
- A flash of light off to the side, and they saw shadowy copies of themselves, the items that they borrowed from Ragvala’s hoard glowing a bright light before vanishing, being replaced by the gear they had brought into his lair.
- A wooden chest appeared and they saw themselves opening it. A small pile of 1,000 gp and three items lay inside:
- Pliny’s _Dragon’s Lullaby__.
- Aegar’s Gauntlets of Glory
- And Zoyana’s Amulet of the Crystal Sea - that let her cast Find Familiar and led them to Fang
- The chest also included a note that read:
- “To the new generation of adventurers.
- It is time to create and sing new songs of your own adventures.
- – Ragvala of the Five-Leaf Clover.”
- As they finish reading the words, the scene faded, and they were walking on the path again…
Tick 3 - Meeting Wylder
- Tick
- They were in Phlan, speaking with Wylder at the inn. She passed on the message:
- _“Thank your friend for Gwendolyn. Tell him he’s too trusting… Have your friend tell Leosin to seek Varram the White in the Serpent Hills. Give him this. He’ll know when to use it. Tell them to follow the white rabbit.
- They could hear the emphasis on Varram the White and the white rabbit
Tick 4 - Goblins
- Tick
- They were near Phlan, outside the Goblin Cave.
Cultist’s orders
- They were hiding in the bushes, and spied a cloaked human speaking with one of the goblins. The human told the goblin that he would pay for dragon artefacts and to kill any humans they find…
After the fight
- They took another step, and the scene fast forwarded.
- They saw themselves after the fight, talking with Chaab, one of the prisoners in the cave:
- The hooded figure they saw before entering the cave was a member of the Cult of the Dragon.
- A black dragon laired there until recently, and it was parleying with humans for some reason.
- The dragon hadn’t been seen in a while, but the humans were still skulking in the area, so Chaab came to investigate.
- He found that the dragon had been killed by adventurers, but the adventurers perished as well. Someone emptied the dragon’s hoard and started harvesting parts of the dead dragon.
- He was captured by the goblins on his way out…
- The goblins occupied the caves first, but then humans from the Cult of the Dragon came. The two sides struck a deal. The goblins would excavate and explore the former dragon’s lair, and the Cult would purchase from them anything relevant to their interests in dragons.
- They saw Aegar picking up his black dragonscale shield as the scene faded…
Tick 5 - The cult in Phlan
- Tick
- They were in Phlan, helping Brother Keefe investigate the Crypt of Xandria. He was wearing his white rabbit pendant.
Xandria’s Crupt
- They saw themselves open the sarcophagus, finding the dragon bones in Xandria’s crypt.
- It seems a little different than it did before.
- Aegar stepped off the path to get a closer look (Int Save 15), and the swirling fog cleared and he could see the gems that they had seen before.
- They watched as the party solved the puzzle, putting the 5 tiny gems (a red ruby, a green emerald, a black opal, a white diamond, and a blue sapphire) back in their places. Aegar was not caught in the poison fog as he stepped back on the path.
The lab
- They took another step, and were in the lab down below the sarcophagus.
- They saw the Cult of the Dragon desecrated tomb, preparing to make dracolich
- And a handwritten note:
- “Raaxil, I have figured out how to complete the process. When you are ready, simply pour the contents of this blue pot into the cauldron and stir. The effects should be instantaneous, but DO NOT DRINK THE RESULTING POTION.”
- They discussed whether to take the potion with them this time:
- Aegar: “Remember what the voice said: what happens in dreams is real after a fashion. If we tip the scales here, we might alter our reality as well.”
- Zoyana: “But wouldn’t that be good? Like if we’re talking about being able to change the future? Taking the potion now, like we were too scared before. Because we were too weak before. But we’re not weak anymore in the same fashion that we were in the past, so with a stronger maybe we can make things better for the future. And maybe taking the potion or stealing the potion, we can like, I don’t care, throw it anywhere. Make it vanish. Pliny can shit in it for all I care. Like somehow neutralize it, whatever. But like get rid of this potion that they’re talking about. We are going through these things, and there’s a reason that we’re going through them. It must be for us to make changes.”
- Aegar: “Let’s.” And he stepped off the path and kicked the cauldron from it’s stand.
- When it hit the ground and the two parts to it mixed, some smoke-steam-mist started rising.
- As they looked around, they still saw the chamber to the left with walls painted to look like inside of a dragon’s lair, and they could just see the teleportation circle that was newly added there.
- And then that scene faded…
The red wizard
- Another step along the path…
- They saw themselves, after killing the knight and kobolds, but before chasing after Rorreth the Red Wizard. The party collected
- A set of documents from Rath Modar that charged Rorreth with creating a host of undead in the catacombs beneath Valhingen Cemetery and to use them to dig their way south and east beneath Phlan in an attempt to locate the Pool of Radiance.
- Letter from Rath Modar
- A set of documents from Rath Modar that charged Rorreth with creating a host of undead in the catacombs beneath Valhingen Cemetery and to use them to dig their way south and east beneath Phlan in an attempt to locate the Pool of Radiance.
- Zoyana momentarily forgot to hold the thread and stepped off the path to try to investigate further (Investigation 22) before jumping back.
- As she stepped off, the papers started to swirl and lift in a completely unnatural fashion, and then were brought slamming down on the table.
- The brief view was enough to confirm that they had found everything they could in the papers.
Tick 6 - Greenest Dreams
- Tick
- They were in Greenest, before the attack
- Zoyana had a dream about Greenest getting attacked from all sides by dragons of red, white, blue, green, and black.
Tick 7 - Nesim
- Tick
- They were in Greenest, at the Broken Thorn.
- This scene seems different. It was on the left, and it kept pace with them as they walked.
- Nesim shared the tale of he and his master Leosin searching for information on the Cult of the Dragon in Candlekeep. They got, among other things:
- Writings from Candlekeep that indicated Xandria was actually a dragon in disguise, hence the message to Brother Keefe in Phlan.
- They also discovered a rumor that some black dragon eggs were for sale there in Greenest. Because of this rumor, Leosin brought Nesim here. Leosin found another rumor here and disappeared (as he is wont to do).
Tick 8 - Faerie Dragon
- Tick
- They were outside Greenest.
- Zoyana and Aegar followed an old purple faerie dragon (Earth) to a large oak tree.
- Zoyana cast Cure Wounds and healed a broken faerie dragon egg…
- …and started a reaction that healed the tree.
- With the tinkle of falling acorns and the sway of branches, the oak stepped out of the ground and the face in the tree began to smile.
- As the newly-born treant began to turn toward the forest, he looked to Zoyana, thanked her, and commented “You… have a hole… in your mind…” and then walked into the brush.
- The faerie dragons left with the treant, with one small red faerie dragon being last to leave, and looking like he wanted to say something to the party before turning and darting away.
Tick 9 - Leosin Intro
- Tick
- They were back Greenest, at the keep, being introduced to Leosin.
- This is another that appeared on the left, and it kept pace with them as they walked. The talking merged with the discussion with Nesim, and the key observations started to bubble out.
- Aegar and Pliny gave an accounting of their adventures in Phlan. Governor Nighthill was much more satisfied with Pliny’s retelling than Aegar’s dry tales:
- The message from Wylder’s patron for Leosin: “Seek Varram the White in the Serpent Hills”
- Leosin’s incredulous reply: “Your friend, who’s not here, has a friend, who’s not here, who told her to tell you to tell me this message?”
- (Leosin knew of Varram the White, but not where he was nor what he might be up to.)
- The message from Wylder’s patron for Leosin: “Seek Varram the White in the Serpent Hills”
- Leosin shared his news:
- The Cult of the Dragon has been hitting villages south and west of Greenest.
- A bunch of mercenaries and some obvious Cult of the Dragon reinforcements just arrived. It looked like multiple mercenary bands and a mottled group. It’s more than we can handle, but definitely not an organized army. There were black and blue wearers of purple, among other cult members. At least 200 so far, with more coming in.
- They’re doing something in a cave at the far end of the camp, but I wanted to come back before trying to get closer.
- If I could tell, I’d say a week or less before hundreds of them descend on Greenest.
- Leosin shared of the Cult of the Dragon:
- Leosin had been researching the Cult of the Dragon in Berdusk and Candlekeep, and came across (among other things)
- The indication that Xandria in Phlan had actually been a polymorphed dragon.
- That the Cult was up to something big and unprecedented.
- That some dragon eggs were available in the Greenfields, and possibly in Greenest itself.
- Leosin had been researching the Cult of the Dragon in Berdusk and Candlekeep, and came across (among other things)
- History of the Cult of the Dragon (as shared by Leosin)
- The wizard Sammaster founded the Cult of the Dragon after receiving some wisdom that included the passage:
- “And naught will be left save shattered thrones with no rulers. But the dead dragons shall rule the world entire, and….”
- **The Cult has for centuries focused on raising dracoliches* to both bring about this prophesy, and be on the good side of the dead dragons when they come into rule. Sammaster developed the formula for the potion used in the dracolich transformation, and only the Cult knows the “recipe”
- This made the party think back to the potion they Xandria’s crypt in Phlan…
- The Cult is organized around the 5 primary colors of chromatic dragons (red, black, blue, green, white), and so the blue reinforcements to the black who were already at the camp feels weird.
- The leadership of the cult are known as the “wearers of purple”.
- The wizard Sammaster founded the Cult of the Dragon after receiving some wisdom that included the passage:
Tick 10 - Zoyana to the Camp
- Tick
- Zoyana rode out Greenest alone toward the camp.
The Camp:
- Zoyana cast Pass Without Trace, wildshaped into a fox, and snuck into the camp like she was damn-near invisible (Stealth 20).
- She spent about 15 minutes sneaking into the camp and exploring (Perception 7):
- Zoyana noticed multiple factions of mercenaries (a couple non-human) and it looked like two different factions of the cult: Blue and Black.
- Zoyana noticed multiple factions of mercenaries (a couple non-human) and it looked like two different factions of the cult: Blue and Black.
- As she reached the back of the camp, she spotted a cave, with a few kobolds that looked like they were with the black group heading in.
- She spent about 15 minutes sneaking into the camp and exploring (Perception 7):
Tick 11 - Greenest Raid
- Tick
- They were in Greenest on the night of the raid.
- Pliny sacrificed a number of cultists, kobolds, and mercenaries to the river gods.
- The next party was a group of 5 chatty mercenaries.
- Some of the energy from Pliny’s Mage Hand (Spell Attack 26) wafted back to the party on the path, and the level of exhaustion the each had was removed.
- As the mercenaries approached the river, the party could hear them talking:
- “Great. You sure there’s no bridges around here?”
- “Damnit. Just a little water. We can walk across.”
- “I want some of those pastries. Not the bad ones, some good ones.”
- “You mean the ones that got Dave and Dale?”
- “Yeah, those looked really good. You see the look on Dale’s face before the puking hit? That looked like one tasty pastry.”
- “You see the look on Don and Dean’s faces when they fucked off?”
- “Yeah. They were like “fuck this!” and ran…“
- “That’s how I feel about this water”
- “Alright alright. Let’s get across. Maybe I’ll find me some new boots.”
Tick 12 - The Dragon
- Tick
- They were atop the Greenest Keep, surveying the attack.
- A moment later, a wave of Fear swept across the keep, a roar was heard, and a bolt of lightening struck the north wall of the keep, frying two of the guards. And then a blue dragon flew into view.
- On the path, Pliny (Int Save 8) and Zoyana (Int Save meh) fell prey to the dragon’s frightening presence, and took a level of exhaustion.
- Aegar (Int Save dirty 20) cast Heroism on both, which washed the fear and the exhaustion away.
- In the scene, Aegar and Pliny, along with most of the people in sight succumbed to the fear and cowered in fright.
- They heard Governor Nighthill say, as the scene faded: _“Oh shi…. They have a dragon. We’re fucked. We’re so fucked.”
- You see a flash, and an image of a tall, silver-haired elven woman…
- As the dragon banked, and breathed lightening, from the path Aegar saw a flash of an image of a tall, silver-haired elven woman in his mind.
- He did not remember having seen the tall, silver-haired elven woman before.
Tick 13 - Glimpsing the black half-dragon
- Tick
- As the party made their way stealthily toward the temple (as stealthily as they could with an armor-clad dragonborn along), from the darkness, they recognized a black half-dragon, clad in purple, turn to address a dozen black-clad guards.
- Although shaped roughly like a human, it was at least seven feet tall, its skin covered in black scales, its fingers bearing wicked claws, and its face had the muzzle and reptilian eyes of a dragon. It gestured emphatically with a black greatsword that it carried in one hand..
- While the others looked on at this cult leader, Zoyana saw a flash:
- It is night. A full moon. She is a child. A black half-dragon leans over her “Take this…” and she hands you something. Flash.
- Back in Greenest, the half-dragon finished talking, turned around, and led her guards away.
- Zoyana looked down at her empty hand, closing and opening her fist, and remembered there being a small silver knife in it.
Tick 14 - Prisoner - consider making this an alternate choice
- Tick
- The party captured a prisoner. In this scene, the prisoner was shaded in mist.
- They looked ahead, and the path and the silver thread split:
- To the right, the well-worn path they had been on, with a restrained kobold awaiting interrogation.
- To the left, a less-substantial path, curving around and connecting back together up ahead. On this left path, a restrained cultist awaiting interrogation.
- Haven chosen the right path previously, the party chose to go left.
- As the last of them stepped onto the left path, the right path faded. There was now only one path, one thread.
Left path: cultist
- The scene ahead was frozen, with Aegar about to interrogate the cultist.
- From the setting, the party sensed that this was a cultist that they could have captured as a prisoner.
- Aegar stepped away from the path to listen, and merged with the Aegar in the scene.
- In front of him was the female cultist, looking up at him scared.
- Aegar told the cultist, “Answer my questions truthfully and no harm will come to you.” and then cast Zone of Truth.
- Aegar felt the cultist succumb to the magic.
- Aegar then used his Channel Divinity to persuade her (Persuasion 25) to cooperate.
- She confirmed that she was a member of the Cult of the Dragon
- Cultist: “I just know I want to be on the winning side, I want to be alive.”
- They were collecting loot “for the great hoard that will usher in the reign of the Queen of Dragons.”
- The cult has a clutch of dragon eggs under heavy guard in a cave at the camp.
- She confirmed many of the other things the party knew about the Cult (they were looting, they had a history of raising dracoliches, etc.)
- She confirmed that she was a member of the Cult of the Dragon
- Aegar asked about the Mere of Dead Men.
- She knew nothing about the Mere or any Cult plans there.
- Aegar asked about where the hoard and where it was located.
- She knew that they were gathering it. Her job was to get it.
- She knew nothing about where it was going. Only that it was going to the raiders’ camp.
- Aegar asked about the red wizard.
- She didn’t think the red wizard was with the Cult, but he was always talking to her (Rezmir).
- Aegar: “What are the red red wizards normal roles? What are their duties? They are not a part of the cult?”
- Cultist: “No, no, no they’re a totally different thing. They’re dead people wizards. I don’t know what they’re doing.”
- Pliny asked what would happen if they broke some of the dragon eggs.
- Cultist: “Oh that…” and she got visibly scared, “…that would be bad. They would be mad…”
- She was concerned in general, but had no idea which dragons laid the dragon eggs.
- Aegar turned and moved back to the path.
Tick 15 - The Dragon
- Tick
- Back atop the Greenest Keep.
- Two things happened at almost the same time:
- A bang at the door to the keep, as some kobolds with a battering ram had snuck their way up the hill undetected.
- Nighthill yelled out: “Jamis, get the kitchen maids and put water on the north tower till the fire is out. Fronkin! Direct your archers at …!”
- From a distance, the dragon appeared and flew directly toward the keep. Lightning and ozone crackled, burning Fronkin and his archers to a crisp.
- The sickening smell of burnt flesh and hair hung heavy over their blackened bodies as the enormous blue dragon with razor sharp fangs and claws banked up and readied itself to make another pass at the walls, strafing the wall with it’s lightening breath.
- The sickening smell of burnt flesh and hair hung heavy over their blackened bodies as the enormous blue dragon with razor sharp fangs and claws banked up and readied itself to make another pass at the walls, strafing the wall with it’s lightening breath.
- A bang at the door to the keep, as some kobolds with a battering ram had snuck their way up the hill undetected.
- On the path, Aegar (Int Save 13) and Pliny (Int Save 10) were hit with an uncontrollable wave of fear, and they felt their bodies sinking as they took a level of exhaustion.
- At the same time, Zoyana saw a flash in her mind of an image of a tall, silver-haired elven woman…
- They heard Nighthill: “If we don’t figure out something, we’re dead. There’s no way we can run with that thing to chase us.”
- In the scene, Pliny stepped forward from the parapet and addressed the keep with Calm Emotions: nearly the entire keep was enveloped in his sweet words.
- Spirits immediately lifted and tensions eased, as the hope of survival enveloped the crowd.
- Fang started calling out to shoot the dragon
- Pliny entreated the survivors to gather arrows and arm the guards
- Aegar calls for the civilians to find cover and the soldiers to man the walls and the balistae.
- On the path, Zoyana turned to the others, “Hey, have either of you seen something that you didn’t see before? Like maybe like a random elven person or something like that?”
- Aegar: “Silver hair?”
- Zoyana: “yeah.”
- Pliny: “Just my type, say more…”
- Before the conversation could continue, the dragon made another pass. It flew overhead of the path.
- Pliny, acting quickly, pointed a finger and cast Hold Monster,
- The spell landed, and the dragon froze in the air.
- Pliny, acting quickly, pointed a finger and cast Hold Monster,
- Even though it was froze, they heard it swear, “Bullshit!”
- Aegar called for the ballistae to fire. They saw the Aegar in the scene, as before, load one of the ballista.
- (With Advantage on the sitting duck, Aegar struck with a 21 to hit.)
The Air Elemental
- The party saw the dragon form end, and become a swirling mass of mist and air with the vague semblance of a face.
- Aegar and Pliny knew an air elemental when they saw one.
- Fang cast Faerie Fire (which it automatically failed as a Held creature).
- Zoyana cast Conjure Minor Elemental to summon a gargoyle and called out to the air elemental, “We are not trying to harm you or affect you. We’re simply trying to make our way through.”
- The air elemental did not seen to react, so she sent the gargoyle to attack (where it did 7 hp damage).
- The air elemental (Wis Save 9) stayed floating in mid-air.
- Aegar threw a javelin at the air elemental (21 to hit, 8 hp damage)
- Pliny sent an arrow wide from his longbow, and then gave a Bardic Inspiration to old Aegar.
- Fang cast Shatter (doing 5 hp damage).
- Zoyana’s gargoyle attacked (21 hp damage), and the air elemental started to look substantially less substantial.
- Zoyana wildshaped into a giant eagle and flew up and struck with her talons (24 hp damage).
- The air elemental (Wis Save 7) stayed floating in mid-air.
- Aegar opened his maw and unleashed his breath weapon, lightening up the air elemental with lightening (13 hp damage). Some of the energy dissipated, but the air elemental barely had anything left.
- Pliny then raised his longbow and sent an arrow through the creature (Nat 20, 25 hp damage). The arrow didn’t even slow down as it sliced through the air elemental, and in this place with the path, the arrow kept flying. The air elemental dissipated.
- Pliny turned to Zoyana and said, “Hey, I hope you’re inspired…” and provided her with a Bardic Inspiration.
Tick 16 - Half-Dragon Champion
Tick
The party fought Langederosa the blue half-dragon and an air elemental
Among the crowd, Detris was visible.
Tick 17 - Zoyana’s story
- Tick
- They saw another scene appear on the left.
- The day after the raid, when Zoyana brought the party back to the Cat and Squirrel Inn to talk.
Pliny’s Elven Battle Spirit
- While Eled was in the back preparing their meals, Pliny (Slight of Hand 18+) pilfered a 10-shot bottle of Elven Battle Spirit.
- As the party in the scene drank, the party felt their spirits lift, and Aegar and Pliny felt their levels of Exhaustion wash away.
A Short Rest
- Along the path, the party sat and took a Short Rest while watching the scene.
Zoyana’s story
- In the scene, Zoyana then shared her story with the party
- Grangles taught her to speak, didn’t know what happened to her family
- Gave her a vial, that she still has, filled with the river water from the river in the South Wood where her hamlet was
- Raised from the time she was 9 in Daggerford.
- One day, while she was out gathering berries, the Grangles just packed up and left, leaving a note:
- Zoyana,
- We can no longer take your selfishness. The evil that resides within you is driving us away from the very place that we have called home. Do not come for us, we do not want to be around you and influenced by your wickedness. Leave us be forever.
- After leaving town, she found herself doing the bidding of a bugbear named Vik. Vik used her size to get into places he couldn’t. After some time, she escaped.
- Ever since then, she’s been having apocalyptic dreams where the world is destroyed by cold, choking fumes, lightning storms, waves of acid, and horrible fire. The setting is almost always her home town, with the purple cloud being replaced each time, and then growing to engulf the entire world. Each time, the dream ends with ten evil eyes glaring at her from the darkness. Often, following one of these dreams, she feels a tug toward this place or that.
- One of those dreams was the thing brought her to Phlan.
- She had one of those dreams right before coming to Greenest, and that was one of the reasons she chose to come with Aegar and Pliny.
- The treant, right after he awakened, told Zoyana that she had a hole in her mind.
- Seeing the black half-dragon last night sent Zoyana into a flashback of a full moon and she was just a child, and that black half-dragon handed her a small knife and said “Take this”.
The Cult of the Dragon
- The party in the scene then discussed what was happening and the Cult of the Dragon.
- Aegar knew some about the Cult of the Dragon: they were a group who believed in a prophesy that undead dragons would rule the world, and who were dedicated to raising dracoliches.
- Aegar also knew a little about Tiamat: the god or queen or something of chromatic dragons, with five heads (red, white, black, blue, green)
- Aegar shared that he thought that all of this was tied together: the Cult attack, Zoyana’s dreams and the eyes she sees, the elements of the world burning. They all point in the same direction and that all of them were pointed in that same direction right now…
Tick 18 - Raiders’ stragglers Interrogation
- Tick
- They continued their walk along the path.
- In the scene, they were on the way to the raiders camp, after defeating the Raiders’ stragglers.
- Aegar used all his tools (Channel Divinity, Pliny’s bardic inspiration, etc) to interrogate Erskine, the captured human cultist.
- Erskine was confused at first by questions about captives, but was clearly in awe of having seen Lennithon the blue dragon flying in the sky.
- Erskine shared that Lennithon was helping to prepare the horde to honor the Dragon Queen: Tiamat.
- The leaders were Langederosa (the half-dragon Aegar and Zoyana killed), Frulam, and Rezmir.
- Erskine was brought to the Cult of the Dragon for money, loot, and power. The dragon queen is going to do to the whole world what the Cult did to Greenest. “What side do you want be on, the side of the midgets and the sheep, or the side of the greatest being in the world?”
- Erskine closed his eyes, took a deep breath, “and if I’m lucky, I come back as an abishai… Do your worst.”
- Aegar knocked him out again. “Well, we cannot kill him. Or his little friend here.”
- Aegar then interrogated the kobold, Zutt**.
- Zutt shared that the Cult took many hostages, then looked to Erskine** before repeating that they took the hostages back to the camp to work and be slaves.
- There’s a tent at the back of the camp where they keep the hostages to do the work.
