Session 6-A: Aegar levels to 3:
Aegar had 4 goals to support leveling to 3 and formalizing his Oath of Redemption. First, he sought out the Party to check in.
Finding the party
- Aegar found Pliny at Madame Freona’s Tea Kettle, made a plan to meet up later to discuss their adventure. Aegar shared he had some personal business to attend to.
Innocence - Gwendolyne’s Home for Poor Children
- Donate some of the gold he has (not party gold) to the orphanage in town. Maybe for a teacher.
- Someone who will keep orphans out of street gangs by giving them useful tools. That can be a class with apprenticeships or farming or what have you.
- After meanding through the poor quarter, Aegar spotted Gwendolyne’s Home for Poor Children
- A small, fenced-in home with a sign outside saying Gwendolyne’s Home for Poor Children
- Gwendoline seems sweet, but maybe a little batty and willing to turn a blind eye when necessary.
- A dozen or so children ranging from ~4-10
- Aegar definitely didn’t feel comfortable leaving Gwendolyne
- Aegar headed for the Scholar’s Square and found a nice teahouse. After some chatting, he was introduced to Bob the Bard.
- Bob the Bard <insert appearance, details>
- Aegar layed out what he wants, and learned something of the Harpers.
- They made an agreement that Aegar would seed Gwendolyne’s Home for Poor Children with a year’s worth of funding via Bob, and Bob would ensure the success of Gwendolyne’s Home for Poor Children going forward.
- Aegar handed off some Exotic Tiny Mushrooms (100gp) and a ruby (100gp)
- Aegar returned after completing his other quests, and introduced Bob to Gwendolyne. Once they got to planning, Aegar excused himself.
Peace -
- There’s a family blade (50gp hilt + combat sabre) that he has kept that he plans on donating to a blacksmith to melt down and make into something of use. Candlesticks, (2) plowshare, nails (13).
- After meeting Bob the Bard, Aegar made his way down toward the docks to find a blacksmith.
- Passing by the Slum Market, Aegar stopped in to Brice Vang’s armory, where he was half-laughed/half-thrown out of the place for wanting tools made.
- Aegar then made his way to Alero’s, which is much more of a craftsmans shop, with both weapons and tools being made.
- After convincing Alero that he did, in deed, want his family sword melted down, and Alero could, in deed, keep the value of the hilt as payment, Alero took the sword and promised to make candlesticks, a plowshare, and some nails out of the blade.
Patience -
- Counsel in a local jail. Focus on rehabilitation.
- After bribing a guard, he was let into the small jail attached to the guard barrack near the harbor.
- Aegar offered some counsel and wisdom to two of three prisoners who it appeared were being held in a drunk tank.
- Slightly disappointed that he wasn’t able to counsel the truly wicked, he nonetheless considered this an acceptable effort towards rehabilitation.
Wisdom -
Fasting and prayer for the day. Take a level of exhaustion or something. Knowing that he will falter and fail at times is part of the journey.
Returning
- The next day, Aegar watched the sun rise, and felt renewed, even with the level of Exhaustion that came with a night’s vigil.
- On his way back into the town, he barely noticed a crow’s call or a man with one ear who nodded to him.
- He checked in on Alero, who said the deed had been completed. Alero was clearly lying about something, but Aegar was comfortable enough that the deed had been done and left without additional investigation.
- And now to find his party…
